Google Phones have begun receiving a significant makeover based on the new Material 3 expressive design language.

Rolling out now for users on the public beta and gradually reaching stable releases this update brings vibrant visuals smarter navigation and fresh gesture based interaction.
What’s New here?
Streamlined Tabs: the traditional favorite , Recent , Contact and voice mail tabs have been merged in to three cleaner options. The Home keypad and voice mail tabs.
Revamped Hometask: This is now Displays your favorites contact in a bubble style carousel at the top. Followed by the call log that list every call separator even if multiple calls came from the same person to make recent interaction clear.
Contacts and Setting : Contacts are now tucked into a new navigation drawer which also houses options like settings clear call history and help.
Seek Gesture for Calls: Answer and ending calls is now smoother with options for horizontal swipe or single table gestures this reducing accidental touches. This gesture can be enable via new incoming call gesture menu in settings.
Polished Call Screen Design: During calls the interface now boasts pill shaped button that morph into rounded rectangles when taped and the end call button has grown bigger for easier access.

This update is a part of google broader material 3 Expressive push aimed at making interfaces more colorful fluid and personalized across Android and wear OS. Animations are Smoother themes adapt quite better to your phones style which makes it feeling more dynamic.
This update Negan testing in June and is now rolling out widely across the glob with version 186 for stable users. It will Continue to Expand through the rest of the year across more google apps like Messages, Derive and even Contacts.
